Erik J. Wenzel
Senior Manager

Erik Wenzel is a Senior Manager with Global Atlantic Partners and specializes in the Risk Consulting and Internal Audit Services practice.  He is experienced in the financial services industry: recently developing and implementing an internal control structure for several large clients as it relates to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.  Mr. Wenzel has also worked with a number of large and medium sized companies to reorganize and perform their internal audit, compliance, and risk management functions.

Erik is also experienced in the Anti-Money Laundering / Bank Secrecy Act audit and consulting practice.  Mr. Wenzel has been trained by a former supervisory examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.  This experience has enabled Erik to assist banks in both the identification of weaknesses as well as the implementation of required enhancements.  Erik has also helped to facilitate the organization of bank’s policies and procedures and has provided guidance in putting these policies and procedures into practice.
Prior to joining Global Atlantic Partners, Mr. Wenzel spent 4 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers working within the financial services sector.  His experience includes the financial reporting of large diversified insurance companies as well as the SEC compliance of a registered broker dealer.  He has also performed extensive due diligence surrounding the financial controls of those companies.  Mr. Wenzel also planned and managed the engagements of over 150 pension benefit plans, four separate real estate fund investments, and a billion dollar investment portfolio comprised of numerous separate accounts.

Mr. Wenzel earned both his bachelor's and master's degree in accounting at the University of Connecticut.
